Auto pause of camera feed when not in use

At the moment, I have to manually start & stop VCam when joining & leaving meetings.
It would be nice if VCam could be left running in the background and automatically enable the selected camera when the feed is in use, then automatically pause the feed and disable the camera when the meeting ends.

Hi all, we have implemented this as part of our 2.0.133 release for Windows and Mac. Let us know if you have any feedback!

Jon Young thanks! I cannot find this feature anywhere in my macOS app version 2.0.133. Where is it? All I see is a "Pause Camera" button and an in use/not in use indicator.

Paul Pschierer-Barnfather: I should have been clearer, apologies! If you click the minimize icon (or the yellow circle on Mac), as long as VCam is not in active use then the camera will be released and processing stopped.
I will make a note on the behaviour here though in order to improve across various use cases. In an ideal world, you wouldn’t have to interact at all and VCam would be intelligent enough to know when to stop using the camera.

Jon Young, ah amazing! I hadn't realised this was automatic (I was looking for a setting). I can confirm the feature works perfectly. This is really nice; now I can run Vcam.ai in the background and still get a near-instant startup when I join a meeting. Perfect.

Hi all! We've started to investigate this one, and intend to have the following:
- When not in active use, VCam will release the camera and stop processing
- If the app is not launched and you select VCam as a camera, the app will automatically launch
- VCam will be minimizable to the tray in the top right corner
Let us know if you'd like to see anything else!

This would be great to have on macOS as well. It

Chris Giordano720: Definitely understand where you're coming from. We'll keep this post updated as and when this rolls out.

Hi Paul Pschierer-Barnfather, this did previously exist in an older Windows version and we hope to bring this experience across to both platforms. Hopefully we'll have an update soon!
